Description Rabbits are sacred to the people of Phanes and only the priests and priestess may eat and wear them. When inducting a new priest/priestess, they are traditionally offered the heart and liver of a female rabbit to promote good health and virility. Once a priest/priestess has served for at least 2 years they are permitted to wear rabbit fur and do so with gusto. Priests use rabbits for haruspicy (divination of entrails) to predict the coming year and reproductive organs are eaten during holy festivals. Ears and feet are dried and are are given to a couple upon the their wedding the bless them with children. Rabbit tails are used by priests/priestess to pollinate the herb and flower gardens within the city used to dye fabrics, specifically rarer plants used for bright colors.
